Privacy policy
Finton is a free game. We don't sell your data, and you don't need an account to play.
What we collect
- Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, which pages they read, what kind of device they use, their approximate location (city or region), and in-game events such as starting a game, finishing a game, and scores. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technology. It does not tell us who you are. You can learn how Google uses this data at How Google uses information from sites that use its services, and opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Game saves. Your saved game is stored only in your own browser (local storage). Clearing your browser data deletes it.
- Worldwide Hall of Survivors. When you start a game, our server creates an anonymous run ID and records when each in-game day passes, so it can verify that a winning run was really played. If you survive all 20 days and choose to enter a name, we store that 1 to 4 character name, your emergency, difficulty and score, and show them publicly on the leaderboard. To prevent abuse we keep a one-way hashed version of your IP address, never the address itself. Don't use your real name if you'd rather stay anonymous.
- Hosting. Our site is served by Cloudflare, which processes basic technical information such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.
What we don't do
- We don't run ads or sell or share personal information for advertising.
- We don't ask for your name, email, or payment details to play.
Children
Finton is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If we add features such as an email newsletter, we'll update this page before collecting anything new. To ask us to remove a leaderboard entry, contact us through the site.
