Do this first

1. Keep your tank at least half full; most gas pumps have no backup power.
2. Store fuel only in approved containers, away from the house.

In Finton

• Fill up at Quik Fuel before the lines start.
• Later, hand-pump from the station's underground tank or siphon abandoned cars with a hose.
• In Hard Times, gas is rationed by odd and even license plates, like the 1970s.
• The truck carries bulky loads like solar panels, but it can break down or get a flat. Parked away from home, its cargo can be stolen.
